چکیده
Mixed metal bi-component oxide catalysts, including Fe/Mo, U/Mo, U/W, Fe/U, U/V and U/Sb have been prepared, characterised evaluated for gas phase selective toluene oxidation. Selective oxidation activity to form benzaldehyde was exhibited by U/Mo U/W mixed catalysts. The Fe/Mo catalyst produced the highest yield. Catalysts that formed also a range of by-products, these were other partial coupling products, preliminary studies suggests they from secondary reactions benzaldehyde. Sb/U catalysts only total carbon oxides. X-ray diffraction, laser Raman spectroscopy temperature programmed reduction. Single molybdate phases identified mixture uranium WO3 catalyst. Results suggest formation is important toluene. In contrast, U/Fe U3O8 V2O5, whilst Fe/U comprised highly dispersed iron on UO3. presence responsible did not exhibit oxidation, but previous demonstrated exhibits high propene Similar behaviour has observed in this study, it apparent propene/propane vice versa.

Vanadia/titania catalysts for gas phase partial toluene oxidation Spectroscopic characterisation and transient kinetics study
Formation of vanadia species during the calcination of ball milled mixture of V2O5 with TiO2 was studied by Raman spectroscopy in situ and at ambient conditions. It is found that calcination in air leads to fast (1–3 h) spreading of vanadia over TiO2 followed by a slower process leading to the formation of a monolayer vanadia. The calcinated catalyst showed higher activity during toluene oxidat...

In this research, Ag/ZnO nanocomposites were prepared and characterized by transition electron microscopy (TEM), the energy dispersive X-ray spectrum (EDS) and X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD). These nanocomposites were used as catalysts for the oxidation of toluene to benzaldehyde and benzoic acid with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and tert-butylhydroperoxide (TBHP) as oxidizing agent in the liquid...
متن کاملSurface Oxide—Support Interactions in the Molecular Design of Supported Metal Oxide Selective Oxidation Catalysts
A series of metal oxides were deposited on the surface of different oxide supports to study the surface oxide support interactions. The dehydrated Raman spectra of the supported metal oxide catalysts reveal the presence and structure of the supported metal oxide phases. The same surface metal oxide species were found on the different oxide supports for each of the supported metal oxide systems....
متن کاملThe Gas Phase Oxidation of Acetaldehyde Reaction Mechanism and Kinetics
The mechanism of the low temperature oxidation of gaseous acetaldehyde was investigated in the temperature range of 1 50-400?°C. The minor, intermediate and major products were identified and measured quantitatively by sampling directly into the ionization chamber of an MS10-C2 mass spectrometer from the reactor. The formation of H2O, CO, CO2, HCOOH, H2, HCHO, CH3COOH and CH3OH as the major pro...
متن کاملZeolite and Mixed Oxide Catalysts for VOCs Oxidation
Zeolite (NaX, NaX-CeO2) and mixed oxide (Co4MnAl, NiMgMn) catalysts were tested in catalytic oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The different kinds of catalysts proved remarkable activity in catalytic oxidation of ethanol and isopropanol respectively. The deepen comparison revealed that basic zeolite NaX-CeO2 is more suitable for oxidation of isopropanol while oxidation of ethanol ...
